FREQUENTLY ASKED TATTOO QUESTIONS
Address:
Supergenius Tattoo
1419 10th Ave
Seattle, WA. 98122
Hours:
Noon - 10pm, Everyday
How much will my tattoo cost?
Pricing depends on the style of tattoo you want, its size, color, placement on the body, the artists hourly rate, and other possible factors. The best way to get the most accurate price estimate is to come in and discuss with our artists exactly what you have in mind.
Our shop minimum is $150.
Do you accept walk-ins?
We sure do! We’re open Noon-10pm everyday. Come on in and see who’s available to tattoo you.
How do I make a tattoo appointment?
If you have a larger tattoo in mind, or wish to be tattooed by a specific artist, you’ll want to make an appointment.
Just let us know which artist you’d like to work with (you can check out their portfolios here on our website or on our IG @supergenius_tattoo), fill out the quick form found under "Consultations", and we’ll help you schedule with one of our artists! From there you’ll discuss the tattoo with your chosen tattooer, you will go over any reference photos you may have, and make a deposit to book your first appointment. Deposits go toward the overall cost of your tattoo and are not an extra fee.
Do tattoos hurt?
Yes, a bit. Though most people report that their first tattoo hurt less than they anticipated! Some areas are more painful than others, and pain can vary from person to person. If you’re nervous about the pain, just think of it as a cat scratching you. It really is similar, and tolerable.
Is your shop safe/sterile?
Absolutely! We take safety and hygiene very seriously. We use only single-use disposable needles, equipment that can be safely sterilized in an industry-standard autoclave, and work stations that are thoroughly cleaned between sessions with medical-grade solvent.
How should I care for my new tattoo?
Aftercare advice will vary from artist to artist, but generally, you’ll want to make sure you have unscented antibacterial soap, clean paper towels, and unscented lotion or coconut oil at home if you are getting tattooed. Your artist will go over aftercare information with you and answer any questions you have at the time of your tattoo. If you have activities planned that you worry may affect the healing of your tattoo (camping, swimming, sports, travel, etc), be sure to ask your artist about it before getting tattooed.
Do I tip my tattoo artist?
Tipping is never expected, but always appreciated! 20% is a pretty standard tip if you are happy with your new tattoo.
Do you offer gift certificates?
We do! We are a cash-only shop, however, so they are available in-store only- and in $50 or $100 increments.
I’m under 18. Can I get tattooed if I have parental consent?
Sorry, but WA State Law requires all persons getting a tattoo to be at least 18 years of age. We also cannot tattoo anyone who doesn’t bring a photo ID, regardless of age.
